Wallingford Residence #1
1992 - 1993 - Seattle, Washington
The redesign and rebuilding of an existing 1920’s 650 SF shack to accommodate a growing family; specifically tailored to the client’s interests, this reconfiguration comprehensively upgraded the existing structural and mechanical systems, totally rehabilitated and subsumed the existing structure, and added two stories and decks. Regional woodcrafting traditions inspired the exterior design and execution; Japanese influences mixed with modern thinking are reflected in the interior articulation.
