Residence At Monticello

Design development for a speculative 5,400 SF private residence on an extremely demanding site; the total elevation differential is over 110 feet from back of the site to the front. Modern spatial treatments and an open plan allow the prospect of an informal family life that revolves around the exterior decks and pool while responding to the outstanding regional view of the Westlake hills. Formal public spaces and the Master Suite occupy the main level, while children's bedrooms and playrooms populate the lower level. The burrowing of the structure into the hillside is but one of the highlights of this earth-friendly design.
